Oh Grandma
I am not doing much sleeping tonight...because this lady is keeping me up...Oh Grandma Lillie...
She has been in ICU for a week now. She's gone through an awful lot. Triple by pass, pacemaker, now some blood clots, possible stroke and she can't seem to use her right arm. The screen is getting blury, I haven't lost a loved one this close before and I'd like to keep it that way. She doesn't want to seem to fight though this...I was lying awake my mind just racing. I want to be able and say goodbye to her if she doesn't want to fight anymore and I hate that Louisville is 8 hours away and not next door. I don't want this to sound morbid but I just had to get all this out and I thought you all should know about it. Pray.
This lady is crazy, seriously. So strong, loves red, knows lots of random facts, works hard for Cedar Grove Shell, makes baby blankets for every baby she knows that is born, gives and maybe too much. She drove here through the night, snow and ice to get here for Christmas last year, alone. She loves her church and makes Oatmeal raisin cookies for them every week. She reads fictions books like crazy and now I have most of them to prove it to you. She used to drive Blaine and I in her old burgundy car on the country roads of Kentucky and we'd listen to Randy Travis Diggin Up Bones, or that crazy guy who sings about the squirrel getting lose in the church, Ray Stevens. She loves Elvis and old country. She says she doesn't love bread, but I know she does. She is probably Swiss Colony's best customer. If you need someone to talk to, just call her right up. She will think the best of you and brag about you to every customer that walks through the doors of the store. One time she took Nikki and I on a little shopping trip to Victoria Secret, I have more lip glosses than I'll ever need. If you need a kitchen gadget just as ask her, she probably has it. Her strawberry cake is THE BEST.
She's my grandma and a grandma she is...
Please pray for this lady, she is special to me. Pray for my parents as they take care of her, it is a tiring job and there]s a lot to do. Pray that no matter what happens, people will be encouraged to love Jesus more and that HE will be glorified. Pray for wisdom for her doctors, nurses and caretakers. Pray that those who are not right with Jesus will get right. Life is quick.
