I did it!!!!

Oh my goodness, I learned to sew! Its official. None of that home economics stuff where you think you have it down but your teacher threads your bobbin and does everything but press your foot pedal. Thank you Heidi Witt for teaching me so well and thank you Sheila for lending me your machine!

I wanted to make some receiving blankets because the ones you buy in the store really are not big enough for a good swaddle...so a few yards of material later...here we are! I started on Friday night and I have made 5! 3 by myself I must add :)

My first attempt for my sweet baby Titus William.

Baby Jonathan Glock's and Hattie Peterson's....went a little crazy doing that "H"....don't look too close!

A Little Fox...

is what Lillie got at the ER Sunday night.

We were doing laundry as a family in the basement when our crawler/walker/leaper girl bashed her head on the edge of one of the wooden stairs, making a small little cut above her right eyebrow. It was bleeding and we weren't sure how deep it was so we decided better be safe than sorry. She only cried for like a minute or two and was her normal self after that.

I have decided that in emergency situations I (Emily) am not the one to run to, I kinda freeze. I picked her up saw the blood and handed her to Mark right away. It is just so hard seeing blood on your little girl or seeing her in any kind of distress at all. She falls a lot during this stage and there's never blood, so when there was I was almost in disbelief! I was just saying "oh no oh no" as I ran to get something to clean off her face.

We weren't the only ones in the ER for eyebrow lacerations, turns out we were the 3rd with a child her age that very evening. They gave her a cute little fox which she quickly began to love. We hardly had to wait anytime at all, they wrapped her up like a taco in a sheet, to keep her arms down, and used some medical super glue to shut the wound and said, it wasn't that deep at all. They asked us how she responded to the whole thing and told us she was just fine. So whew.

You can't keep this little girl down so when we got home and she began to play... it re-opened, we said ARE YOU JOKING? and put a band aid on it! We checked on her sleeping soundly in her crib later that evening and the band aid was still in tact she wasn't choking on it and there was no blood soaking through or dripping down her face, like one mom feared.

It is healing pretty well and has yet to reopen since Sunday evening. When I go out in public I just want to tell people, I did not do this to her!

Oh being a parent is grand, as we were driving to the ER we just said, this is probably the first of many right? Oh....I can wait on those!

APPLES!

We had many many apples left after our apple picking adventure, so here are some snapshots of what we have done with them....

Apples! I love apples! Which is odd since they used to make me very upset!

Applesauce in the making, mmm....smells great!

What these aren't apples! Oh yea, this was the delightful treat we found in the freezer when cleaning out space for our applesauce! It was like finding money in your pockets! M&M and choco chip cookies!

Cutest Pumpkin Ever!

Daddy got to come home early on Friday and we had a full evening! We started by carving a very large pumpkin. We then got dressed and headed over to our friends house, The Gunns, for a quick bite to eat and some trick or treating fun! Let me tell you! Grandview is the street to trick or treat on I suppose! It was seriously like a parade with lots of decorated homes and lots and lots of people! Wow! (sorry we lack a picture so use your imagination!) We then stopped by to see some other friends and came home to light our jack-o-latern and to take some cute pics of course! Enjoy!

I had on a green tshirt and Mark came out of his closet with his green polo, he said look hunnie we can be the two vines that got together and made a pumpkin!
