Go Eat Dirt Loser!

With so many liberal people in this world telling us that there are no losers at sporting events or other "competitions" we often joke that just to keep our kids grounded we will make Tuesdays the official reality check. Mark often comments "We will make them eat dirt and call them losers!" So...today, Tuesday, I walked in to the entry way to see our sweet Lillie girl eating...what? Dirt? We knew she was a good kid, but look how well she obeyed! We didn't even have to tell her to do it! So please enjoy some comic relief at the expense of our little loser.

Disclaimer: If you are reading this and seriously are doubting our parenting right now, you don't know us very well....go eat dirt...loser!

Bittersweet....

Well this past Friday Mark and I went out with Dan and Georgi for our last official birthday celebration since they will be moving off to Colorado. Back in the day we were awesome picture takers....now we seem to only remember in the car. We went to Madison where the ladies enjoyed themselves quite well at SEPHORA and the men went on a computer rescue mission to the Apple Store. I also must say that Georgi and I have amazing husbands...we ladies of course weren't finished in Sephora when they were done, so they smelled perfume with us and waited patiently while we looked at the plethora of makeup. Oh man...that place is a trap. Then we headed over to the Melting Pot for some Fondu Fun. It was so good to sit and talk and be together. We will be missing those times.

The next day Mark, Lillie and I went to the UD Homecoming Football game. It was a BEAUTIFUL fall day and Lillie did so well!!

Gayes Mills

Friday was Tri-College free day so Mark had off! We went to Gayes Mills, Wisconsin for a family day at the apple orchards! We picked Spartan Apples in honor of UD!

Mom and Dad said I had to eat all my oatmeal because we had a big day ahead!

Little peekers at the Kickapoo Orchard....

Daddy and I, we got our fill of apples! Mom was a little nervous because apples and I haven't gotten along in the past...the good news is...Gays Mills Apples get an A+ because they didn't hurt my tummy at all!!

The little wagon rider couldn't resist getting into the box behind her...

We've got our bushel now time to head out!

Desperate for Change....that doesn't mean your "change" OBAMA.

Well my mom told me once that my Grandma Varney said that we just may have some gypsy blood in us....sorry my Romanian friends that is not a good connotation in your world...anyway... I guess for a gal who has lived in 12 different homes or dwellings this proves to be true. Mark and I have been in Dubuque for a while now...this is starting to be the place I have lived in maybe the longest. I am definitley itching for change. Our best friends are off to Colorado, we knew they would be heading there eventually but its hard to see them go and yet we are here in our comfy little world. Now, don't get me wrong we have built amazing relationships and had some great experiences that is for sure but....Im bored. God help me as I say this and as I feel this but we do pray you would do what you'd have for our lives here or there...or somewhere.... I don't think God puts these longings in my heart for no reason, I just am trying to figure out what it all means.

Spontaneity Please!

Mark gave me some money for my birthday to do a little fall shopping at Hobby Lobby and we decided that we wanted to go tonight...we also decided that we were going to go at 7:15 and they closed at 8! So we loaded up the Lillie girl who had just got up from a late nap and grabbed her dinner which Mark fed her in the back seat on our way! We arrived at Hobby Lobby with a little under a half of an hour to shop. We had a great time!!! It may seem like a recipe for stress to some of you but it was so exciting. Lillie had a wonderful time and I think it is probably her favorite store because there is so much for her little eyes to see and take in! When we got home, exactly one hour after our take off time, Lillie was in such happy mood and wanted to take some pictures. So here you are friends and fam!

This may be our best family picture yet! Sad huh? Mark was holding the camera as we squatted down in our kitchen!

My two cuties...

Oh happy day!

My cute pumpkin I bought at Hobby Lobby, little hands are sure to grab this...

Corn anyone? This basket I purchased tonight also, 50% off I might add...it was $5. Oh yea...I love Hobby Lobby.
